Followup to 1% Question

Now for the exciting conclusion of the 1% question!

I was not even thinking about being soulstoned so running the door never occurred to me. When the DBM flashed enrage in 10 seconds, I cast Prayer of Mending and Renew on the tank and then started Smiting like a madwoman. I do have a few spell haste gems so that was nice.

But we wiped. And apparently even though I was just barely inside that large circle, it was close enough to aggro him again when I used my soulstone. It was very late and since we had trash mobs to deal with again, we called it a night.

So, now I'm wondering - what if? What if I had bubbled the tank and healed the heck out of him? Would that have kept him alive long enough to keep Void Reaver off the handful of dps that was left? Oh well, I tried it one way and it didn't work. Hopefully this situation won't happen again and we'll down him before he enrages. But if I ever get to 1% again, I'll heal my socks off and see how it goes.

Thanks for all the comments! :)

The 1% Question

Last night we did Tempest Keep with one of our partner guilds. From our guild we had me (holy priest), hunter, warrior tank, healadin, and two warlocks. We were very excited because this was our first trip into The Eye with more than two of us from the guild. A few of us have tagged along on other pugs, but never with this many guildies.

So we get there and after a few tries with the trash mobs and the nasty whirlwind they do, we learned to back off and we progressed nicely through to Void Reaver. It took us a while because most people (not just my guildies, but ppl from the the partner guild as well) were brand new to TK and didn't know the pulls. But we finally got to Void Reaver, YAY!

So, the first try we had too many DPS die immediately and even though we kept going and going, we passed the 10-minute mark and he enraged and wiped most of the raid. We had a couple of people soulstoned so we rezzed up, buffed up and tried again. Only this time, one of the hunters got too close and accidentally pulled. So much for misdirect, huh? LOL. We tried for a minute or two but it just wasn't going well so we ran out to reset him. Someone told the dead to release and run back. The problem was that there were trash mobs respawning. So we had one of warlocks summon the rest of the raid back to Void Reaver. We buffed up again and tried one last time.

This time was going really well. I was moving around more, keeping PW: Shield on myself most of the time and spam casting Renews, Prayer of Mending, and Flash Heals. At one point the tanks started getting low so I stop raid healing and healed the tanks for a while. It was a crazy 10-minute fight. I was running around avoiding orbs, healing who was low and in range, trying desperately to keep our top dps alive so that we could down the boss before he enraged (wow, finally a use for damage meters). We were doing really well but most of the raid had died including our top dps and all but the main tank. The raid leader was yelling to "give it all you've got" and I was healing my socks off. Then I noticed Deadly Boss Mods say - enrage in 10 seconds, and someone yelled 1%!!!

So, if you were me... would you:
a) Keep healing your socks off?
b) Switch to Smiting the crap out of him?
c) Run the door because you know you're still the only person soulstoned?

At 1% ... what would you do? I'll wait for comments and then I'll post "the rest of the story" this afternoon. :)
